As with the Classic Cols of the Pyrenees, our Trans Top 30 tour is for the hardcore cyclist only. This pure climbing tour takes in both the Pyrenees and the Alpes regions with a stop over at Mont Ventoux in the middle - because we can!
You will conquer up to 30 climbs as you ride your way across France.

Below is our 2018 Trans Top 30 trip.
DAY 1: – TOULOUSE BLAGNAC AIRPORT PICK UP
Velo Tours staff will meet you at the airport for your transfer to Bagneres-de-Luchon to your accommodation. We will put your bikes together for a short ride through the valley before dinner at one of our favourite restaurants in town where you will meet all the members of the group and get a briefing on the magnificent riding weeks ahead.

DAY 2: – FABIO CASSERTELLI RIDE
Today's ride takes you through pictureseque countryside and small villages such as the towns of Aspet and Saint Beat. We pass the famous monument for Fabio Cassertelli and after lunch at the cafe on the top of the Mente we ride back through the valley home to Luchon.

DAY 3: – VALLEY RIDE
After a scenic ride down through the valley we will stop at Saint Bertrand de Comminge for a crepe and coffee before continuing to Mauleon-Barousse and the Port de Bales

DAY 4: ESPAGNA LOOP
A big day on the bike today with plenty of climbing over the border into Spain. From Bossost we ride to Viehla for lunch, then back to Luchon via Vilamos and the double header back over the Portillon.

DAY 5: – FRONT DOOR OPPORTUNITIES
Today is an optional rest day or you can head out the front door, turn left and begin the climb up the penultimate Superbagneres. If you still have something left in the legs, we can then tackle the Hospice de France before heading back to pack up for departure.

DAY 6: REST DAY / TOURISTY STUFF
Today is our last day in Luchon so why not go to the thermal baths or take a ride on the chairlift up to the Superbagneres for coffee or invite your mates to a game of minigolf. The many souvenir shops or cafes in town may also be a good option.

DAY 7: – TRIPLE LEGENDS TRANSFER
After departing our chalet, we begin our day with the Peyresourde. After a coffee in Arreau we will then conquer the Aspin before stopping for lunch. Our last climb is the penultimate Col du Tourmalet then dinnner at our hotel in Argeles Gazost.

DAY 8: – LOCAL LEGENDS
Today will be another epic day as we tackle the Aubisque and Soulor then it's a free day in town exploring.

DAY 9: – TRANSFER TO CARCASSONNE
Today we depart the Pyrenees region but first we ride another big climb in the area, the Hautacam. After checkout we will drive to Carcassonne for the night and a day of more touristy stuff. This amazing medieval city will provide us with lots to do.

DAY 10: – VAISON LA ROMAINE
After a morning of looking around Carcassonne we will transfer to Vaison la Romaine. You can spend the day in the hotel pool or wandering around the ancient upper city or the many boutiques and stores in the lower town. This well earned rest day will prepare you for your big day tomorrow. The option to climb Ventoux from Malaucene will also be offered.

DAY 11: – VAISON LA ROMAINE
Today you ride "the Beast' from the tradional side out of Bedoin. After the summit photo we will head back to the hotel for a shower and our transfer to Bourg d'Oisans.

DAY 12: – TRIPLE HEADER
After a good nights sleep in our chalet we start our Alpes campaign with a ride to the top of Alpe d'Huez then to the summit of the Col de Sarenne for a short break before our third challenge of the day, the Les Deux Alpes.

DAY 13: TOUR DE FRANCE TOUGH
Today we tackle one of the biggest climbs in the region and one of the toughest, the Col de la Croix de Fer. If your legs have it in them we will descend down to St Jean-de-Maureinne for a bite to eat before coming home via the Col du Glandon. We will then head straight to the river for a beer and recovery.

DAY 14: - DOUBLE HEADER
We tackle first the long climb up the Lautaret from our front door in Bourg, then after arguably the best coffee available in France in the cafe at the top, we take on the last 8km climb to the top of the Galibier. The fun begins when we turn around and descend all the way back down to town...

DAY 15: – ALPE D'HUEZ TWO WAYS
Our final day of the tour offers a different view of Alpe d'Huez via Villard Recaluse. This is a nice early finish to the day so we can pack up ready for our departure tomorrow - but not before our farewell party and awards night where we all get to kick back, relax and have loads of fun handing out awards that some will be proud to hold, and some maybe not so much!

DAY 16: – DEPARTURE
Today we say farewell and transfer to Grenoble train station for your connecting train onto where ever your travels take you next.
