Below is our 2018 itinerary.

Velo Tours staff will meet you at Barcelona airport for your transfer to your accommodation in the city.  We will put your bikes together and then the afternoon is yours to wander around this great city before our welcome dinner at a restaurant nearby.

- Ride Distance: n/a

After breakfast we will begin our cycling campaign with our first leg towards the cycling mecca of Girona.  Girona is home to many pro teams and passionate cyclists and is one of the most popular cycling destinations in Spain.  Once we have checked in to our hotel you have the afternoon to explore before meeting back at the hotel for the walk together to dinner at a local restaurant.

- Ride Distance 100km

Today we head across the border toward Perpignan, a coastal town established by the Romans.  We will check in to the hotel just 15km from town but situated right on the beach where you can head to the water for a recovery dip or use one of the hotel pools before meeting for dinner on the deck at the hotel.

- Ride Distance:  95km

Today's ride has small uphill sections but we will also get some great views over the Mediterranean before stopping for lunch en route and then more coastal views as we arrive into the city of Sete in the afternoon.  It will be a big day but the van is always there for support when you’ve had enough.

- Ride Distance 147km

Today we leave the coast behind for a while as we head inland for the famous Mont Ventoux.  We will depart Sete and ride through to Avignon and after lunch we will transfer by vehicle to Vasion La Romaine.  You can take a dip in the pool and then spend the rest of the afternoon exploring the upper ancient city

- Ride Distance 125km

Today we will climb Mont Ventoux from the town of Bedoin. After a nice roll through the valley we will head for the little cycling town and from there it’s up the traditional side of the climb, through the forest.  Mont Ventoux is one of the most spectacular climbs in France, if not all of Europe. You have seen in on TV now you will know how challenging this climbs is.

- Ride Distance 67km

Today we transfer to Marseille where you can spend the day being a tourist or we can rise early and have a second go at climbing Mont Ventoux, from the Malaucene side.   After a quick ride back to the hotel for a shower we will then transfer the 140km to Marseille with a stop over for lunch on the way before and a free afternoon in the city once we arrive.

- Ride Distance 50km optional or Rest Day

Today we depart Marseille for some more coastal views on the way to Saint Tropez via the beachside village of Le Lavandou.  We will make a few stops for coffee and pastries on the way and then have lunch in Le Lavandou  and then transfer to the rest of the way to our hotel in the popular seaside mecca.

- Ride Distance - 110km

DAY 9:   – NICE

Today’s ride will be an epic day on the bike as we ride through to beautiful Nice.  Our route takes us along beautiful coast roads through Cannes and Antibes where we will stop for lunch.  After lunch we will continue riding through to Nice.  This will be an easier day on the bike with just a little lump here and there along mostly flat coastal roads.

- Ride Distance 100km

DAY 10:   – NICE

Today we have a bit of a lay in and a late breakfast before we ride the route used by the local pros up the Col de Tirini, a famous road that has featured in the Tour de France as well as numerous car rallies.   Then it’s back to our hotel in Nice to pack up in preparation for our departure tomorrow.   But first we have the penultimate occasion of the entire tour week, our final farewell dinner.

- Ride Distance 90km

Today we say googdbye to and make our transfer to Nice Airport.
